{"id":6364,"date":"2012-09-22T10:57:57","date_gmt":"2012-09-22T09:57:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paulvallely.com\/archive\/?p=6364"},"modified":"2012-09-28T20:05:14","modified_gmt":"2012-09-28T19:05:14","slug":"government-response-to-mothers-prison-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paulvallely.com\/archive\/?p=6364","title":{"rendered":"Government response to Mothers &#038; Prison series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">STATEMENT<span style=\"color: black;\"> FROM MINISTRY OF JUSTICE<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u201cFor some women, prison is the only sentencing option for the courts &#8211; this is right, both in terms of punishment and the need to protect the public.\u00a0\u00a0 But we need to ensure that sentencers have a range of options available to them which include robust community sentences and effective interventions in prisons. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u201cWe actively work with women to reduce the risk of reoffending, which means recognising routes into crime and how those routes may differ from male offenders.
